American chronicles: Robert Mars

He aims to chronicle America with his art, capturing the esthetics of the 1950s and 1960s. The American pop art artist Robert Mars is interviewed on Jazz FM days before the opening of the exhibition American Art at the Sofia Museum Gallery of Modern Art. It presents some of his works, as well as works by Andy Warhol, William de Kooning, Jasper Jones, Donald Sultan, Jim Dine, Robert Longo, Keith Haring, Hunt Slonem, the Bulgarians working in the US Hristo Yavashev-Christo and Huben Tcherkelov (Houben RT), as well as Belgian Don Ken, whose work is also linked to American pop art.Famous with his collages, inspired by the Golden Age of American culture of half a century ago, Robert Mars presents in Bulgaria some of his current works, as well as mini collages with Bulgarian motifs.
