Could we be that happy… Camellia Todorova and Jivko Petrov on the harmony of making music together

Camellia Todorova and Jivko Petrov have been making music together for the past 13 years. Jazz and blues fans were thrilled to hear their stylish and passionate duets on the album Pealrs in 2001. In 2007 Camellia Todorova and The Jivko Petrov Trio (with bassist Vesselin Vesselinov-Eko and drummer Dimitar Semov) performed an amazing concert at Hall 2 of the National Palace of Culture. The record was later broadcast on Jazz FM’s Jazz Emotions programme. “Every musician lives for that moment – a moment most precious. Finding the person with whom you can be as one on stage. This is a moment of happiness that can not be described, that can not be compared to anything,” says the first lady of Bulgarian jazz Camellia Todorova in her first interview with Jivko Petrov on Jazz FM. “I remember the feeling of inspiration,” recalls the composer, pianist and arranger. The two share a common feel and love for improvisation, for the modern, for life. They can communicate in a chord, admits Camy. Jivko agrees. The two speak in one voice on this interview by Svetoslav Nikolov that you can listen to here.
