One of the greatest contemporary innovators in jazz is Belgian piano player and composer Jef Neve, known for his modern approach to music and for presenting to his audience new territories in jazz. He rewarded his Sofia admirers with his interesting and imaginative compositions. The visit, on the invitation of the Embassy of Belgium in Bulgaria, marked the start of the Belgian Presidency of the European Union.On his interview with Jef Neve, Svetoslav Nikolov asks the musician about his feelings towards critics greeting his music as innovative, what lyrics would best suit it, how he and Jose James got together for their “For All We Know” new album, and also about how the economic crisis helps musicians in their art.
