One Beautiful World Of Music: Jon Lord

That could be done by a musician with limitless sensitivity to the world, boundless talent, heart full of love. That was done by the great Jon Lord at his first concert in Sofia with the enthusiastic Sofia Philharmonic conducted by Nayden Todorov, the perfect band TE and the excellent vocalists Katarzyna Waska and Jakob Samuel. The Sarabande Suite, echoing with the music of past centuries and with music and emotional horizons stretching to infinity, his original compositions and Deep Purple hits made the audience feel like they have heard everything in music for these two unforgettable hours full of love and bliss both on stage and in the hall. Time stood still when Jon Lord played his cult organ solo on Child In Time. The accidental applauses by some of the fans were stopped short by a wave of disgruntled hush! from those who wanted to remember the sound and feel of it played live forever. On the eve of the concert Jazz FM’s Svetoslav Nikolov spoke with Jon Lord about the forthcoming event, his first concert in Bulgaria and the symphonic and rock attitudes of his music.
